For a proper cocktail, or a night that runs a little later, these are the bars we recommend in downtown La Paz.
El Buen Bar
El Buen Bar punches well above its size — really nice drinks and some of the warmest service in town.
DIOSITO Art Club
DIOSITO Art Club is worth it for the bar alone: the bartender makes an incredible mezcalita with fresh lime.
Cuatro Altos
And Cuatro Altos is the espresso-martini stop — a whole variety of them, including a wild clear one — in a huge, easygoing space with a bartender who makes you want to stay.
When you want something louder
Patio Bar is the lively one: more of a proper bar hangout, busiest on the weekend. And Uno Bar takes it up a notch — good music, room to dance, cocktails, and a younger crowd.
For a low-key night
Perro Salado is a pool hall with good, casual beers and no pretense.
