Where to get coffee in downtown La Paz

Mornings in La Paz start slow, and they start with coffee. These are the three places we send friends and guests first, all a short walk from Colibri Centro.

Café Bélier

Café Bélier is just down our street — pour-over espresso and coffee, a couple of seats inside, and cute umbrellas over a little spot out front with a few snacks to go with.

Doce Cuarenta

Doce Cuarenta is the city's beloved coffee institution: proper espresso, a pastry case worth planning around, and a big, buzzy room that people post up and work from all day — not just a morning stop.

Amelier 21

And Amelier 21, in Centro, might be our top pick of the bunch — exceptional croissants, fresh bread and sweets, great coffee, air-conditioning inside and picnic tables out, and genuinely friendly service.
