Mechudo Brewing: craft beer and sunsets on the Malecón in La Paz
A small taproom from a big local brewery, right on the Malecón: four or five house beers on tap, seafood tacos, daily deals and one of the best sunset views in La Paz.

If you only have time for one beer in La Paz, make it at Mechudo Brewing. It's a small taproom from a big local brewery, sitting right on the Malecón with a wide-open view of the bay, and it's one of our favorite places to watch the sun go down.
The beer
Mechudo brews its own, and the taps usually carry four or five house beers. The selection changes, so ask the crew what's fresh and what they'd pour for you. The spot itself is small, but the brewery behind it is anything but.
The view
The open front looks straight out over the water. Come about an hour before sunset, grab a seat facing the bay, and stay for the color. It's a short, easy walk along the Malecón from Colibri Guest House.
The food
Mechudo serves food too, mostly seafood tacos, which is exactly what you want with a cold beer by the sea. They run deals on different days of the week, so ask what's on when you stop by.
The people
Part of what makes Mechudo feel like a local spot is the crew. They're friendly and happy to talk beer, and the owner is usually there himself, which says a lot about the place.
Right next door
Mechudo sits just downstairs from Harker on the Malecón. Make a night of it: start with a sunset pint at Mechudo, then head up to Harker's rooftop.
